| a) Lk 10:25-29 - Lawyer questions Jesus about salvation | |||||||||
| i) vs 27 - And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord
thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength,
and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
ii) vs 29 - But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? iii) The lawyer totally missed the 1st point - loving God |

| b) The lawyer was looking for a formula for success. | |||||||||

| ii) Christianity is not a formula, it is a relationship. | |||||||||
| a) The Jews made the mistake of trying to obey the letter
of the law, instead of the spirit of it.

| i) When you love someone, you desire to to what they want | |||||||||
| a) Supercedes your own desires
b) You own desires pale and disappear in the light of their desires |

| ii) When you love someone, you desire to make them happy | |||||||||
| a) If they aren't made happy by an activity or action, you don't do it. | |||||||||
| iii) When you love someone, they are more important than anything else | |||||||||
| a) You put aside other things that would prevent time with them. | |||||||||
