"AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART"
| 1. King David was called a man "after God's own heart." | |||||||||
| a) Many take this and say it is because David was quick to repent. | |||||||||
| i) The Bible doesn't say repentence is a character quality
of God.
ii) We don't want God to repent. |

| b) God's character is defined as haseed | |||||||||
| i) 1 Jn 4:8 - He that loveth not knoweth not God; for
God is love
ii) 1 Jn 4:16 - And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him iii) Definition of haseed - An overwhelming desire to give of yourself, to the other person, for their benefit, no matter what it costs you. |

| a) Haseed is translated in the Bible as either "mercy" or "loving kindness." | |||||||||
| c) If David was "after God's own heart" he must have displayed this characteristic. | |||||||||
| 2. David's covenant with Johnathan. | |||||||||
| a) David cuts covenant with Johnathan.
b) Johanathan dies in battle. c) David remembers his covenant. d) David sends for Mephibosheth. e) David meets Mephibosheth. f) Mephibosheth turns on David. g) Mephibosheth meets Kind David on return. h) King David spared Mephibosheth |
