| The sacrifices are mentined in Leviticus chapters 1 - 7.
In Numbers 28 & 29 there are 1,273 public sacrifices per year.
The Sacrifical System Numbers 28 - 29 - The nation of Israel had 1273 public sacrifices per year (required sacrifices). Types of Sacrifices A. A. Mandatory Offerings - associated with the sins of the nation 1. Sacrifices for Sins - If a person sins out of ignorance of God's commandments. 2. Guilt Offering - If a person sins against another unknowingly or unintentionally. It can also be translated as "the sacrifice to make ammends with somebody." A restitution or a restoration to the offended person were always made along with the offering for these offenses. B. Voluntary Offerings 1. The Burnt Offering - Voluntary offering - This offering is about your desire to surrender to God, to have a more intimate relationship with Him: at this point, one doesn't simply want God for the benefits, but for fellowship and relationship (if you are not willing to surrender, you are not neither prepared to have an intimate relationsip with God). 2. Grain Offering - Symbolizes the walk of a person in communion with God, given for His power and His glory (devotion to God). 3. Peace Offering - An offering to celebrate your communion with God. A cry from the heart for peace between you and Him. |
