- TRAVEL UPDATE -

As we've mentioned in previous newsletters, we're taking a few months this summer to travel and visit some churches and friends in the U.S. We left the border area in early July after several delays. Since then, we've been in Kansas, Missouri, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and are now in Alabama. We've seen many old friends, along with making some new ones.

Due to lack of time for scheduling and what we felt was the leading of the Lord, we didn't bother to schedule the Summer very tightly like we did last year. However, there hasn't been a Sunday or Wednesday yet where we didn't minister somewhere. God is still leading us to those places He wants us to go, and still opening the doors He wants opened.

The Lord has also moved on a couple of churches to start supporting our work in Mexico on a regular basis. This is something we've needed and been praying for. Please pray for us that God adds to that number, giving us more churches and individuals that will partner with the vision God has given us to do.

Not only have we been ministering in churches, but God has opened doors for us to minister to individuals in campgrounds, gas stations, and wherever we go. As believers, we all need to be seeking God daily for people we can bless and minister to. The Bible says to be "instant in season and out" In season with what? With a word straight from the throne of heaven that we can use to encourage, edify, and bless both God's people, and those that need to become God's people.

Many times, the Holy Spirit is unable to use the Body of Christ to minister just because we aren't ready. However, there's a world full of people out there that need to be ministered to, all we need is to be connected to the source of all power and wisdom, and open to His leading.

Let us encourage you to be continually seeking those that the Holy Spirit would have you minister to. Don't just go about life as normal, go about life as if every moment is another time that you can be ministering to someone. Ask the Lord's guidance in every step you take, so that you can have those divine appointments He desires, and be a blessing to those around you.

Just a quick example of how the Lord can use a believer who is both available, and seeking His guidance.

We were passing through Georgia last week and needed to buy gas for the motorhome. As we usually do, we started praying for the Holy Spirit to show us where we should buy our gas. He led us to a particular gas station in a particular city.

It was hot that day, so while Rich was fueling the motorhome, Deborah and Rebekah went into the gas station to cool off. There was an Indian man working there who had moved to the United States about a year ago. The Lord prompted Deborah to talk to him, and she did.

In there conversation, the man asked what we did for a living to which Deborah answered, "We're authors." and "We've written some marriage books about sexual intimacy."

He was intrigued by her response and asked to see our marriage books, which of course we had in the trailer. It ended up that this Hindu man from India bought all three of our current Christian marraige books. God will use anything to get His Word into someone!

- PRAYER COORDINATOR -

One of the needs we've had since the conception of this ministry is for an intercessory prayer coordinator. Unfortunately, we don't always have time to contact people and ask them for prayer. However, without the prayer backing, there is literally nothing we can do for the Lord.

Just recently, we had the opportunity to discuss this need with Watorla Childers. Watorla has been a long time supporter and intercessor for our ministry. She is called by God as an intercessor, and understands both the necessity and the urgency of Spirit led, anointed, accurate prayer.

Watorla has agreed to try and be our prayer coordinator on a trial basis. She didn't want to make a permanent commitment until both she and we had an opportunity to see how it worked out.

If you should receive a call from Watorla asking for prayer for us and this ministry, please take it as if it were a personal call from us. Take a moment right away to pray for the need, before you can forget, then add it to your prayer list for ongoing prayer. We beleive that with the increase in prayer that will come out of this new method of contacting people, we will see an increase of God's work accomplished through the ministry.

If you are not currently on our list of prayer partners, and would like to receive these prayer notifications, please e-mail us a short note with your phone number so that we can add you to the list.

- MOTORHOME NEWS -

We would like to ask your continued, ongoing prayers for a replacement for our motorhome. Although it has been an incredible blessing from God, allowing us to travel and minister for the Lord, it has reached the point where it is really too old for what we're doing with it.

This Summer, while we've traveled, we've received an average of 30 miles to the quart of oil. Part of that has been due to the engine burning oil, and part to what I call a moving oil leak (every time I fix it, it moves to another place). We also broke a transmission line a few days ago, causeing us to lose transmission fluid faster than I could add it. Finally, at the time of this writing, I have the engine torn apart due to a leaking head gasket. Before arriving at the church we're at right now, we were going 30 miles to the gallon of anti-freeze.

So, with all of that, we'd obviously have to rebuild the engine before taking another long trip like this. Although I would be perfectly willing to do so, if that's God's desire, I think God has better uses for my time than playing mechanic.

We are believing God for a converted "Greyhound" type highway bus. I have had plans drawn up for how we would like it to be laid out for a couple of years. We are sure that our God is more than able to provide for this need. Please stand in faith, agreeing with us for this provision.

- FALL PLANS -

We expect to return to the border of Mexico, and the work there, in the beginning of October. God has not released us from Mexico yet, and we really don't think He has any plans to do so any time in the near future.

However, we expect to see more changes in the work we are doing in Mexico. God is opening more and more doors for us to travel farther into Mexico and minsiter in other parts of the country. One of the Mexican pastors we work with regularly has a 40 day tour scheduled for us, 40 churches in 40 days.

We are also looking to expand our literature minitry into Mexico. The Spanish Pastor's Letter we write is currently going out to 120 pastors every month. We are hoping to at least double that this year.

The pastors who have been receiving that letter are reporting to us that it has been a tremendous blessing. Some of them are preaching those messages to their congregations every month, and others are asking us for extra copies to pass out to other pastors. We have also been able to send packages of these teachings to other areas of Mexico with other pastors who are traveling to those areas.

- ENGLISH PASTORS LETTER-

We have been working to get back on track with the English Pastor's Letter. Due to ministry in Mexico, we had allowed it to fall by the wayside, but the Lord has impressed upon us to not only continue, but expand that ministry.

For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, the Pastor's Letter is a teaching we write to encourage and edify the pastors we know. Pastors need to be ministered to as well, and this is a way we are able to have ongoing ministry to them. We only write those things we feel that the Lord wants us to write, and will be a blessing to pastors.

This letter does not solicit financial aid or talk about our ministry in any way. It is not a "newsletter" but a means that the Lord has impressed upon us to minister to pastors and ministers.

If you know a pastor who is not currently receiving our Pastor's Letter and would be blessed by it, please send us his name, church name, and mailing address. We would be glad to add him to our mailing list.

Now, let me get to the exciting past of this. A couple of weeks ago, while we were in a church service in Maryland, the Holy Spirit moved upon the pastor to give a prophetic word to each of our children. Through one of those words, the Lord sparked the idea in our spirits to increase the pastor's letter; instead of just ministering to pastors, add sections to minister to the pastor's wife, and other church leaders.

So, we are believing the Lord to turn our current Pastor's Letter into something which will minister to all the church leadership. Some issues will have sections dedicated to the worship leader, the youth pastor, or the eldership of the church.

We are believing that this larger Pastor's Letter (which will probably need a new name) will bless the pastor in a greater way, and help the church overall. Please pray that the Lord direct us in this new venture.

This is getting a little long, so we'll say goodbye here. We pray that God continue to bless you in all that you say and do. If there is any way that we can be a blessing to you or your church, please let us know.

In Jesus' precious name,

Rich & Deborah Murphy
