| Dear Brothers & Sisters in the Lord -
It's been over a month since my last e-newsletter to you. Sorry about that,
but my computer died for two weeks, and then we were stuck in Mexico with
a broken axle for three. However, everything's working now. Praise the Lord
for His provision.
--- IN THIS ISSUE ---
-- UPDATE ON "THE NIGHT DEBORAH DIED --
In January, the Lord brought Deborah to a point where she "died." That doesn't
mean that she died physically, but that she finally put down "herself" (her
will, her desires, her emotions) and gave it all to God.
Since that night, our finances have taken a dramatic leap... upward! God
was using the financial problems we were going through to help bring Deborah
to a point where He wanted her. Praise the Lord that He knows what's best
for us!
-- SINGING IN HER HEART --
One of the joys of ministering in other countries is the ease of picking
up intestinal parasites. Actually, we've had very little problem with this,
but recently we did end up with a case of diarrhea from such wonderful critters.
Unfortunately, Deborah wasn't drinking enough water, and she got somewhat
dehydrated.
We were at a church service when this happened. Deborah was lying in bed
more or less passed out, and a doctor who's in the church was checking her
out.
Although Deborah wasn't singing, the doctor heard her singing whenever she
put her stethoscope over Deborah's heart. If she took it away, she didn't
hear anything, only when the stethoscope was on Deborah's heart.
The doctor had been asking God if the manifestations of the Holy Spirit were
real, and if they were for today, this made a believer out of her. God can
and will us every situation in our lives if we let Him!
-- MEXICO PRAYER MOVEMENT -
We have our next prayer in the plaza this coming Monday, the 23rd of April.
Although there have been some struggles, we are gaining some momentum, and
have more pastors interested and involved than we did the last time around.
We are needing to accelerate this work, but the pastors we're working with
are afraid of the financial cost of having prayer gatherings in the plazas
every month. It's only been costing about $700.00 each, which is very cheap
for this type of event, but to the Mexicans that's a lot of money. Please
pray that they get their eyes on Jesus and off the financial problems that
could come up.
Speaking of praying, we need everyone who can to pray for this prayer movement.
This is a definite work of the Lord, and the enemy is of course coming against
it (that's why the motorhome broke down, the same trick he tried before the
last prayer gathering).
-- CONFERENCES -
We've suddenly had a real surge of conferences in Mexico. Several of the
pastors have been scheduling us for two or three in their churches. The people
are hungry to be taught, even the pastor's aren't.
Deborah gave five woman's conferences in the month of March. Apparently,
there are no other women speakers in Reynosa, and suddenly everyone is realizing
that she's available. It's making a great difference in the lives of the
women she's ministering to.
-- RADIO --
Our radio program, Shalom Israel, is in its fifth week of broadcast. So far,
it's going great, and we've received some positive feedback from the people
who've heard it.
Another radio station nearby has mentioned a desire to have our program.
They haven't yet given us a definite time slot, but they definitely want
us. This will spread out the area we're covering to about 2/3 of the Rio
Grande valley, and as far into Mexico as Monterrey and Victoria.
The biggest challenge we've run into is finding a time to record the programs
when it's quite enough. It seems the best time is very late at night.
-- WEB SITE -
Our web site is now over 230 pages, with lots and lots of teachings. To check
out what's new, go to our main page, and click on the question mark that's
in our logo. Whenever I make an update, a link to it is on the page that'll
show up.
I've got to go now, I'm on a library computer, and so my time is limited.
I'll write again with the rest of the news. |
