There
are many Christians that don't love or obey God. They've accepted Jesus as
their Savior, but not as Lord. This cheapens their relation with Jesus to
some kind of eternal fire insurance policy to keep them out of hell. They
want to know that the blood of Jesus washed them clean of sin, but at the
same time, they want to keep on sinning.
It's one thing to accept Jesus as Savior, but something else entirely to
accept Him as Lord. Savior puts us on the receiving side, where we have the
advantage of receiving something from Him, without really giving much in
return. But, when Jesus is Lord of our lives, then we give everything to
Him, and He has total right to everything we have and everything we are.
To be honest with you, most believers aren't ready to take that step. They
aren't sold out enough to give everything to Jesus. They're more interested
in what they can get from Him than they are in what they can give to Him.
Maybe that's why they aren't receiving much.
What kind of believer are you? Are you Sold Out for God, or are you Selling
Him Short?
