Write a note to God listing 10 reasons you thank Him for the blessing of
your wife. "Accidentally" leave it where your wife can find it.
- 26 -
Find a hobby that the two of you can work on together. Gardening, refinishing
antique furniture, hiking... anything that you both like, and can do together.
- 35 -
Give her a foot massage. Women like their feet rubbed and somehow there is
a connection between the feet and the back. Rubbing her feet will help her
back too.
- 52 -
Take a night class together. Pick something fun, that you both have interest
in. Preferably a creative subject that isn't essential to either of your
jobs (introductory basket weaving, furniture upholstering...). Pretend you're
normal college students living off campus (carry her books, go to the student
center, etc.).
- 69 -
If one of your children say something nasty or disrespectful to her be quick
to jump to her defense. This is especially important when they are teenagers.
- 109 -
When something goes wrong, keep your mouth shut! Too often, when faced with
a crisis, the first thing we say is the wrong thing. Most people start out
attacking and blaming each other at that time, instead of looking for ways
to be supportive of each other. Don't say anything until you can be sure
of saying the right thing. The best words in a crisis situation are, "Let's
pray."
- 141 -
Go out to eat at a restaurant. Order something you both like, and one drink.
Share the meal, feeding each other. (If you're still hungry, you can order
something else afterwards). While you're eating, talk about your dreams,
such as: If we had a million dollars, what would we do with it? If we could
go anywhere on vacation, where would we go? If we could do anything, what
would we want to do?
- 176 -
Be faithful to her in both thought and deed. If fact, don't give her any
reason to think you might not be faithful.

Finally, be there when she needs you. No matter what the need, you should
be the first one there for her. |
