In 1990 we had been married for four years. Anyone looking at us would say we had a good marriage, and we did, compared to most people. Good communications, never fighting, actively involved in the church, and raising a happy family. No storms, no squabbles, everything nice and comfortable. Like I said, a good marriage, better than most.
Hold it! Stop! Cut! Can anyone find me that scripture in the Bible that says we're to compare our lives to others? You can't? Well, neither can I. There's only one standard to compare ourselves with. That's the Word of God. At the time, we weren't exactly sure what God's standard for marriage was, but, whatever it was, we knew we weren't there.
So God started us on a search for what His definition of marriage was. Have you ever had questions that didn't seem to have answers? That's where we found ourselves. No book we read, or minister we talked to had the answers we sought. After all, how many people do you know who ask what the real reason for intimacy in marriage is for (not procreation)?
Now, don't try and tell me Christians aren't supposed to talk about sex. We just need to talk about it from God's perspective, not the world's. Hosea 4:6 says "My people perish for lack of knowledge..." KJV, and this is one area that has been severely lacking in Christian knowledge.
If I remember correctly, Genesis 1:27 says: "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them." KJV. Then in Genesis 2:24-25 it adds: "Therefore, shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh. (25) And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed." KJV. Obviously, if God created us, he created our sexuality as well, and if God created it, it was created holy and perfect in his sight. It wasn't until after the fall of man, that man, not God, tried to hide his sexuality with fig leaves.

Personal Ministry
Rich & Deborah stay a couple of days for personal ministry after the conference. They are avilable to pray for and council every couple that attends the seminar.
The information given in the seminar is a foundation for building marriages. However, several areas within a marriage (especially women who have been sexually abused) will need personal prayer. Learning without giving God an opportunity for healing isn’t enough.
